Notes: Written for the tww100 'Bob Dylan Lyrics' challenge. This is actually the first thing I've ever written about the Codel trilogy. I wanted to avoid it as much as possible but the song kind of made me write it. Damn controlling music!
He hasn't touched her yet; thinks maybe if he does... she'll break.
It's stupid because she's always been the strong one; the one standing right behind him, holding him up; the one picking up his broken pieces and gluing him back together.
She's the one who pushed her way, bit by bit, into his heart and now lies injured, and he can do nothing more than stare at her.
Bruised and broken and it's his chance to put her back together; his turn to be the strong one.
And when he's really strong enough, he'll tell her he loves her.
