The summer heat makes her cranky during the day. She yells at you for everything, and you let her because she's eight months pregnant. It's only when it's cooler, when she's sleeping, that she's calm again.

Sometime during the night she's kicked the sheets off. Your bedroom is dark but moonlight streams through the window; glows as it splashes across her body.

Gently, possessively, you lay your head on her swollen belly and, still asleep, her hand slips down to rest on your cheek. You want to capture this moment in time forever.
